Why was the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil made pleasing to the eye and good for food if God doesn’t tempt people?
James 1:13-15

If God didn’t mean for the tree to be a temptation, why didn’t he make the fruit ugly, unappealing, or rancid smelling?

6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it.
Why would God have put the tree in the garden with the humans and made the tree pleasing to the eye, appearing good for food, if it wasn’t meant as a temptation?

It never says it didn’t look better than the other trees. All it says is that it was pleasing to the eye and good for food. So obviously it looked like something they’d want to try, rather than something that is repulsive.
