Can regular sunglasses be fitted with prescription lenses at the optometrist?
I bought a pair of Wayfarer sunglasses with clear lenses with the intention of having them fitted to my prescription. I ordered them online. I think since it’s a fairly popular style they’ll be able to do it but I want to be sure. Do they cut the lenses themselves or what?
If the frame is good enough to make it worthwhile, it should be possible. For my first prescription sunglasses I was able to have them use the frame from a very comfortable pair of Revo non-prescription sunglasses. There might be an extra service charge for fitting lenses to a frame that isn’t in their normal stock.
