High Myopia
C-section or natural delivery if having high myopia?
Hi,
I am 28 years old female pregnant in 35 weeks+. I have high myopia with Astigmatism on both eyes / -5.25 D right and -5 D left/. My question is – Do you know if natural delivery /pushes during labour/ can cause retinal tears and detachments of eyes? I have read a lot of articles based on researches and to be honest there are a lot of mixed opinions whether to have Cesarean or natural delivery? What is better to go and have my retina examined by a optician or ophthalmologist? I need urgently your opinion! Thanks a lot!
I suggest that you have a consult with an Ophthalmologist -
Depending on the degree of your high myopia pushing *could* do further damage to your eyes
In which case a C would be the better option here
